To get to Hynes' Hunting and Fishing, you have two
methods of arrival.
If you are driving, you need to drive to the
Newfoundland Ferry in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. The
ferry will bring you to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland.
When you leave the Newfoundland take the Trans Canada
Highway East (Route 1) to Deer Lake. Deer Lake is
approximately 3 hours from the Port Aux Basques.
From Deer Lake, take Route 430 North. Portland
Creek is approximately 2 hours from Deer Lake.
If you are flying, several airlines, including Air
Canada has flights in to Deer Lake. A
representative of Hynes' Hunting and Fishing will meet
you in Deer Lake and bring you to Portland Creek.
If you flight is arriving late in the evening, consider
arriving a day early and spending the night in Deer
Lake. The staff at Deer Lake Motel (www.deerlakemotel.com)
will be glad to accommodate you.
After arriving at Portland
Creek, Dan and Vera Hynes will be your hosts and guides
for the remainder of your hunting or fishing trip.
